The New BMW 6 Series Coupe

The new BMW 6 Series Coupe will head up a range of three new 6 Series models, with the 650i representing the top model in the long-awaited line-up. A ‘four-door coupe’ variant is due to be launched in 2012.

With uncompromising sportiness, the distinctive design meets state of the art innovation thanks to the latest LED technology. The focus is very much on providing a luxurious interior design with premium features such as LED full and low beam headlights for the first time, with heightened sensitivity to contrast, imposing L-shaped tailgates (also LED) and a full-length glass roof to allow plenty of light into the opulent cabin. In addition, the turning light function, in combination with the LED lights, ensures that the road is perfectly illuminated in every situation.

The long bonnet is more contoured than before and the boot is also more integrated, boasting a subtle spoiler integrated into the metal. Boot capacity will remain at 450 litres.

The spacious cabin has an asymmetrical dashboard with a spectrum of finest materials and textures on show, many of which are framed by an elegant silver trim. BMW Recognised As Lowest Co2 Producing Premium Car Maker

In March 2011 Audi may have produced the most cars out of the German premium car manufacturers but BMW has stolen the march when it comes to CO2 levels. An industry wide study showed that BMW is the UK’s leading premium car manufacturer with the lowest CO2 emissions. BMW recorded a fleet average of 147g/km CO2, which is an improvement of 5% compared to last year.

BMW’s EfficientDynamics technology aims to lower CO2 levels without compromising performance figures. Not only do BMW produce the lowest CO2 emitting premium cars but they also have a mile per gallon figure of 50.4 and average power output of 182 bhp.

BMW’s closest rival, German rivals Audi average 152g/km CO2, 48.2mpg and 168bhp. The other German premium brand Mercedes recorded 174g/km, 41.6mpg and 183bhp. British premium car manufacturer – Jaguar has figures of 201g/km with combined fuel consumption of 37.7mpg and power output of 279bhp. Read the rest of this entry »
