Czech automaker, Skoda Auto, will present a model facelift of their bestseller, the Octavia, at this year’s Paris Motor Show which is held from the 2nd to the 19th of October 2008. The Skoda Octavia is very popular worldwide, being assembled in altogether eight countries and it is now coming, as Skoda says, “with a more emotionally powerful design”.

Apparently, new design features in this third generation Octavia will include newly shaped, bolder headlamps, a more robust radiator grille and a one-piece bumper. At the rear, changes summarize in new tail lamp covers and a dynamic bumper with integrated cat eyes. Revised front headrests and new adaptive xenon headlamps can be also added on the list of enhancements.

Inside there are changes regarding the new audio and navigation systems and the redesigning of the steering wheel, the dashboard, the air con and the decorative strips on the doors and the central console.

Under the bonnet, Skoda brings out a brand new 1.4 TSI/90 kW engine and they say that “turbocharged 1.4 and 1.8 litre petrol engines can be combined with a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic DSG transmission”.

We will probably see for ourselves soon enough if it’s any good but I’m willing to bet my money on this fresh 3-Series kind of look.

It seems that Skoda Auto’s presentation at the Paris Motor Show is going to be installed in Hall 4, position 215, where, besides modernised Octavia, Octavia Combi and Octavia Combi 4×4 vehicles, the Czech company is going to present the entire portfolio of Skoda cars in its stand. Skoda Yeti was launched in November 2010. It is currently getting very good response and demands as well. It is a powerful SUV competing with the models like Hyundai Santa Fe, Mahindra Scorpio Tata Safari, Tata Aria, Maruti Grand Vitara, Ford Endeavor, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Outlander in domestic market. It was first showcased in January 2010 at Delhi Auto Expo.

Engine- It is equipped with a robust 2.0 liter diesel engine. It has TDI CR, 16V DOHC, 4 cylinder, Turbocharged, and liquid cooled with 6 Speed Manual Transmission. It is capable to generate utmost power of 140 Bhp at 4200 rpm and highest peak torque of 320 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. Overall the engine is designed in such a way which can give good mileage on countryside areas and retro areas.

Exterior- it comes with smiling exterior features which can attract you easily. The face of the SUV looks aggressive with smartly designed broad head and fog lamps. The emblem of the company right at the center of the grill is cute. The black colored chrome bumper brush adds much beauty for the car. The body colored mirrors and indicators is neatly carved. The 16inch alloy wheel will make a mark on your heart. It also gives extraordinary look for the SUV. The ground clearance of the car is good. The suspension provides comfort even in the worst roads. It looks like crossover from the rear side. Overall it is a nice SUV.

Interior- It comes with striking interior features. It is a five-seater with 4 doors. The wide dashboard (like in Skoda Laura) with chrome package and leather seats is attractive. It is cloud 9 when it comes to comfort. It is very spacious where you will get liberty to free your legs and arms. The inbuilt audio system with 6.5 inch LCD TFT with touch screen control is excellent. It gives enough room to carry your luggage. Other features like Air condition, under luggage compartment floor, front glove box with cooling, illumination, electronically adjustable external mirrors and storage compartments in side panels is good.
